International Chinese Eight-Ball Association is delighted to announce that the term 'Chinese 8-ball' (and formerly Chinese Eight-ball) has been changed to 'Chinese Pool'. The new terminology, unified with the CBSA's nomenclature in its Chinese name, is more precise and easier to understand and helps satisfy the sport's growing needs.
"Various different disciplines have evolved on the Chinese pool table and it is not ideal when the name of the sport is restricted to only one discipline which is 8-ball," said ICEA executive secretary Bolong Zhang."We hope promoters within the industry will join force in promoting this Chinese sport."
The name of our association remains unchanged at the moment. ICEA-sanctioned events will undergo a name change accordingly.
ICEA is the world's governing body of Chinese pool and its derivative disciplines.
